Julia Flux is a sculptor, experimental painter, and dancer from Berlin. Her artistic approach aims to act as decaying matter and create ground for the fertilizing power of art, practicing curious openness. For her, the key for the openness lies in the body as a doorway, active listening and a vivid oral, emotional „face-to-place“ story-telling which she explores in her ritualized performances.
During her stay, she created an installation in the desert. Julia frequently questions what a painting could be and uses earth dyed/painted glass to reflect on the fragility and temporality of an art piece. She situates her glass paintings in the desert to return the glass to the sand - where it came from.
